I grew up in Arlington, Virginia. I have always been physically active through gymnastics, soccer, and exploring in nature. I became fascinated with anatomy and what was going on inside the body as a teen and into my 20’s when I went to life drawing and painting classes. I learned about the muscular and skeletal systems and knew there was more to the body than bones and muscles, so when I discovered fascia, it made so much sense!
Fascia was the micro/macro cosm I had been playing with in thought and art since I was a child. The fascia connects us all, it runs throughout our bodies but also a similar network that runs through the Earth as the mycelium (mushroom) network. The quantum field also looks like fascia which makes up all matter.
I found out how effective myofascial release was in 2016 after being treated for a leg issue. After 3 sessions, the pain was gone. As a student in massage school, I continued my passion for myofascial release. I graduated and took my first John Barnes myofascial release seminar soon after. The work is so effective, I continued taking seminars. John Barnes Myofascial Release Seminars to date include: John Barnes MFR I, MFR II, MFR unwinding, MFR Facial Pelvis, and MFR Cervical Thoracic, MFR Rebounding, and MFR Fascial Cranium.
I am passionate for the totality of health and understand the important connection of the mind and body. Through continuous study and experiential learning, I have a vast knowledge and innerstanding of fascial care. Diet, exercise, our mindset, and our nervous system all play a role in fascial health.
I moved completely into my own practice, Elemental Myofascial Release, in Fall 2022. I continue to go to seminars every year and grow as a therapist.
I have a daughter and two dogs. I love spending time with family/friends, making art, making music, and spending time in nature; going down to the river and gardening.
